This publication provides images and basic information for documents located and scanned within the collections of the National Archives and the Library of Congress. It is a preliminary publication of the Papers of Abraham Lincoln, a project of the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. It reflects the Papers of Abraham Lincoln’s effort to locate, scan, transcribe, annotate, and publish electronically all documents written by or to Abraham Lincoln during his lifetime.
